Computational Network of Multiple Nodes Create Secure Redundant System on Blockchain | Flux Hosted DApps are Growing

4 min read

Blockchain technology has changed the internet – creating solutions to the downfalls of a centralized internet.  FluxNodes has proved to be a reliable system for decentralized applications that benefit from all the enhanced security features of blockchain and web3 technology. Flux currently powers more than 60 applications across its network, from social media to gaming.  This article shares six DApps on Flux – giving one a sense of what is possible in a decentralized web.

The development of Blockchain technology marked a significant turning point in the history of software and application development on the web. Before blockchain went mainstream, centralized applications (especially those that promoted social interaction) were the rave of the moment for evident reasons. Aside from allowing to maintain social relationships via the web, they were readily accessible, easy to use, and in most cases, free.

However, a centralized structure for web-based applications came with less than desirable limitations; transparency issues and user data exploitation by third-party providers added to the single point of failure of the system mechanism due to its non-redundant nature. There was a need to have a viable alternative that addressed these issues.

Flux changed everything.

Flux computational network powers applications on the blockchain, allowing them to run on a decentralized peer-to-peer system. Multiple nodes on the network retain copies of the application without storing them on a central server. Due to their redundant nature, the possibility of a single point of failure is eliminated. FluxNodes has proved to be a reliable system for decentralized applications that benefit from all the enhanced security features of blockchain and web3 technology. Current Flux powers more than 60 applications across its network, ranging from Social media apps to gaming platforms

In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the most popular DApps on the Flux network, (This is by no means an exhaustive list, to check out all the DApps on Flux, visit here.

Keep3r:

Keep3r is a match-making Defi protocol designed to connect organizations needing technical expertise with external/freelance professionals able to solve these problems. On Keep3r, these experts are called ‘Keepers.’ While Keep3r does not directly manage the services exchanged, it provides the marketplace that allows for demand-supply interactions. Keepers are responsible for developing their infrastructure, dev-ops, or any other resources required to carry out the assignment (usually a smart contract waiting for an external action) (thus, giving them control over their workflow. Flux computational network provides Keep3r with a decentralized frontend fully hosted on Flux.

Nitter:

Nitter is an alternative frontend for Twitter which has garnered much interest over the past few months. However, unlike Twitter, Nitter offers an ad-free experience. The DApp achieves this by stripping away the javascript code responsible for ad-tracking.

Ordinarily, disabling javascript functionality on Twitter via a browser like chrome will affect the functionality while messing with the app’s layout from a fronted view. However, Nitter on Flux allows users to access and surf through Twitter without compromising privacy. Nitter also comes with an RSS feed that will enable you to connect a news reader app directly to Twitter, and developers are working on how to allow in-app customizations.

Yacy:

Yacy is an open-source, distributed search engine powered by the Flux decentralized network. Unlike Google, Bing, or Go-Go duck, Yacy allows you to surf the website free of cookies and ad-tracker. This way, you can stay anonymous on the internet together with your search history and activities. Instead of fetching data from a centralized server, Yacy leverages P2P sharing and encrypts your index entries with distributed hash-tables making your search parameters undecipherable. Yacy is the web3 response to the privacy intrusion committed by significant search engines, and this project is proudly hosted on the Flux network.

Kaddex:

Flux has a long-standing history with Kaddex as both companies mutually share the vision of a decentralized web3. Kaddex is a Defi platform built on the Kadena blockchain that offers a unique DEX angle; complete elimination of gas fees. In addition, Kadena offers robust liquidity pools, staking rewards, e.t.c. Flux provides Kaddex with the robust decentralized infrastructure it needs to remain accessible, scalable, and interoperable with other networks.

Kaddex embodies the web3 ideal as all its frontend and server-side assets run without dependence on centralized providers…… it’s all on Flux.

Docushield:

Docushilelds heralds how blockchain technology is changing the storage of files and documents that are important to us. While the nominal storage of your sensitive files on the cloud can keep them from thieves and data loss, privacy is not necessarily guaranteed. Storage on a centralized cloud infrastructure means your files can still be accessed by the parent companies that run the server farms. On the other hand, Docushield embraces advanced blockchain encryption methods that keep your documents private, even from Docushield.

If Flux is the face of web3, Docushield is the safehouse, bringing the storage of personal files and data into web3. To complement this effort, Flux provides it with the decentralized platform, massive storage capacity, and other cloud infrastructural tools it needs to keep documents safe and private on the blockchain…forever.

Presearch:

Presearch is a decentralized search engine with the vision of creating a transparent algorithm built on blockchain technology that allows anyone to participate in the creation and curation process of the search index. The search engine features active personalization features for users alongside complete control over their search history and results.

To provide community access to data results and existing search resources Presearch leverages FluxOs; Flux operating system. Users can also leverage the Flux computational network to supply computing power to Presearch nodes.

Sifchain:

One of the downsides of many decentralized exchanges is they typically restrict investors to only a subset of blockchain ecosystems. As a result, over 80% of all cryptocurrency trading activities occur on centralized exchanges. Sifchain offers an omnichain solution to change this narrative by supporting cross-chain transactions for the top blockchains that oversee most transactions in the cryptocurrency world.

In 2021 Sifchain became the first decentralized exchange to enable trade between the Cosmos ecosystem and Ethereum. Sifchain is also proudly hosted on Flux web3 infrastructure.

Dropalo

Dropalo is a multipurpose social messaging platform that operates a system in which messages expire after a specified time as opposed to the conventional approach. This way, users can keep private messages private forever. Dropalo allows you to meet new people and create new experiences without worrying about privacy.

Dropalo reflects the user control and decentralization Flux stands for and the applications run on the Flux ecosystem.

With each passing day, the Flux ecosystem continues to expand, with more partnerships with leading innovative web3 technologies and Daaps running on the computational network. We are paving the way for a whole new world running on the ideals of Web3. Join us: www.runonflux.io
